Travel Talk
Making a trip this Easter or some other time soon? Then that’s one good decision you’ve made.Did I hear you say why? Well, because if you know how to set things right, for example planning ahead or setting goals, a trip, almost always, ‘adds’ to you.
Here’s how that happens:
You set out for a trip- say a fun trip, by road, by sea or by air (depending on your budget), you realize that almost every step of the way, you come across something or someone ‘new’. The same way we read books, and in the process widen our knowledge, we travel and expand our knowledge of people, places and cultures. Amazing isn’t it? In actual fact it’s first hand contact this time! And guess what? The more you relate with people of differing backgrounds, the more your confidence grows. You can’t be planning for instance to be President so and so in 10 or 20 years time and not know how to relate with people, situations and things. You may think that’s going far but it’s not. It’s about time we dropped off some of our ‘introvertish’ sides (for those who are so inclined) and do some real good exploring.
And if you just said to yourself, “surely she’s not talking to me”, then you just missed the whole point. If you’re a student, then, listen out or watch out for field trips organized by your school (some schools do that) or organize something with ‘good’ friends during your holiday. You don’t have to go somewhere far if it’s going to be too expensive; even a neighboring town may just do. The most important thing is having an opportunity to do something you’ve not done before or go somewhere you’ve not been before. It’s all about breaking limits and ‘pushing’ yourself.
There’s still so much more we can talk about where traveling is concerned; like learning a new language, and so much more…
If you keep visiting this site then you are sure to learn something extra.
But right now, don’t forget that traveling is good, if anything, for the singular fact that it brings people our way. And surely, we always need people (the right kind of people though) in our lives because like John Donne said, “NO MAN IS AN ISLAND entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent”.
